French chandeliers

If there is one item that has been in fashion for the past ..... 300 years !!  it has to be the chandelier.

In the court theater at the Palais de Versailles, they had to light 3000 candles in chandeliers before a show!  Who wanted that job?!

In our home we use a candle chandlier in the dining room but elsewhere I have electric chandeliers. 

So what is it that we always fall for?  Could it be the minute details, 

simply the reflection of  light in pretty pearls and glass pampilles .....
