really the last loot shoot of the year !!!

 Surprise, surprise, there really was one last fair to go to.  Set off with a friend in the dark and in thick fog this morning UGH!  Freezing temperatures, literally, but hey this was the very last brocante of the year so we were ready to make the effort.

Not a very well assembled loot shoot, but more a quick peak of the goodies I brought back.  Sheets,  mattress ticking,  paintings, sarreguemines plates, cake moulds, agricultural prize plaques and a chandelier.  Everything will be going in to the store tomorrow, but if you'd like any information before hand or if you see something you want to reserve, just drop me an email.

a lady's loot shoot and an autumn fair

Today the brocante fairs were full of autumn harvest produce, it's the end of the brocante season here, the weather unreliable, and sunrise much later.  When the vendors find nothing left to sell in the attics, they start sourcing in their potagers!.

I started shopping by flashlight - not brilliant for photos! - but once the sun rose I was able to take a few shots of what proved to be a very colourful brocante.

Why oh why did I never think of writing directly on my jam pots?!?

My loot reflected all this colour:  pink, turquoise and gold were the dominant colours today - a loot shoot for ladies!

a monochrome loot shoot - less is more

Few words,

few colours,

little time to write,

many pictures

much enjoyment.

 I don't know why, but today I was only attracted to neutrals at the brocantes I visited.  Came home, opened the car and couldn't believe how monochrome my purchases were.  Love it!

Ella helped me with the pictures today - thank you honey! -   Busy, busy busy here, lovely guests in the cottage, a trip to prepare in the coming week, deadlines to meet.

I'm not sure if I'll have time to list all of these items in the brocante store.  Some are already reserved!  A couple I've kept for myself :).  If you're interested in anything you see, don't hesitate to drop me a line, and I'll fill you in on the details.

a rainy loot shoot

 

A wet day today, but luckily this morning my youngest and I  were off early before the skies opened and we managed to get to a couple of fairs in local fields and villages.

By the time we arrived home it was raining hard so the loot shoot had to be set up on the barbecue table, but I sort of like the colour palette there anyway.  Ghetto offered to help, and you can imagine that he made things much easier ! ..........

My favourites today?  My lantern; the creamy old Sarreguemines plates; the turquoise ladle and the most wonderful shabby watering can.

Of course today we are also thinking about this day 10 years ago, when the world changed forever.  Our thoughts are especially with the families who have suffered and who still suffer.
